It took me seven hours to find the mistake in my proof. Seven hours! That’s an entire day of work to find one simple summation error. I don’t know if I am exhilarated that I actually found it or disappointed in my own idiocy. At any rate, the paper rolls on.

That’s a normal day at the office for me! But instead of a math mistake, it’s some obscure setting that wasn’t set right deep in some strange control panel on a server you can only access remotely. And the error doesn’t tell you what is actually wrong.
