I knew it was only a matter of time. Despite driving a good deal with the top down and very little on the highway, the Miata hit 30.43 mpg on my last fillup. Maybe 30 is just an arbitrary number, but it feels pretty good to get that kind of mileage. Almost makes me want to shoot higher by making some little changes on the car. At any rate, gas is ridiculous right now so it feels good to fill up for about $30.
In other news, Shanell, Becca, and I bottled the hard cider we made and it should be good for sampling soon. On deck is a belgian wit and an oktoberfest. I’ve been working lots of hours lately so I hope it pays off on my next paycheck. I’m waiting for break from work to put on the new miata soft top I bought with a glass window.
I reserved a copy of Mario Kart and Wii Fit. Mario Kart is coming out soon and I bet it’s going to be awesome. I wonder if the Wii wheel controls will be good or I’ll end up using the gamecube controller. I played Super Smash Bros Brawl with the wiimote and I wasn’t impressed. I’m looking forward to the day when the Wii homebrew scene gets a little better and people start using the classic controller for emulator games. Playing a Super Nintendo game with a gamecube controller isn’t exactly ideal.
Also, the final release of Ubuntu 8.04 comes out tomorrow. I can’t wait to give it a try.

While I think speculation is a huge cause for oil/gas prices, I don’t think world consumption will be going down.
I’m probably going to invest in a bicycle.

I was thinking we should make the wit tonight, but I forgot you work so late. Darla’s surgery is tomorrow, so I’m not sure how much time I’ll want to spend away from her. We should definitely do it soon, though.
Only about four more days until cider sampling. I will try not to open it without you, though it will be hard to resist.
